What to Expect

Here we explain about what you can expect, from your first visit through to what you can take away at the end.

If you have any particular questions or concerns, please do get in touch and we will endeavour to answer any queries you may have.

Step 1

The first visit lasts about 45-50 minutes. We get you registered and ask you to fill out some forms. We then carry out a fairly detailed interview, asking about the current state of the child and about some facts from the past that could be important in the context of the child’s development (the most common questions are about the course of pregnancy, childbirth, the child’s skills, how time is spent playing with the child, the child’s preferences and the specific reason for the visit).

Step 2

Next we analyse any relevant test results and other information, as well as watch any videos you may have recorded.

Step 3

We then proceed to the examination of the child. This consists of observation, physical examination and diagnostic tests to assess the functional and structural condition of the child.

Step 4

We then inform you about the results of the assessment(s), describe possible actions to be taken and agree on a common strategy. We will discuss our recommendations for therapy with you. Subjects of this discussion may include the number and frequency of clinic visits and the total duration of the therapeutic process.

You will also receive recommendations of things you can do with your child in everyday life (in the form of corrective care and suggestions for playing with the child).
