Sensory Integration

This is for children with sensory integration problems. It is like controlled playing which provides stimulation of the senses and can be used alongside other rehabilitation methods.

Sensory Integration can help children who struggle with concentration, those who are overactive, over sensitive (with touch or sound for example), those who struggle with balance, children who have a fear of movement (they may be hesitant taking their feet off of the floor and using a swing for example).

It can also help those who have poor motor skills (they may have difficulty in learning new motor skills or they might frequently stumble).

“Sensory Integration can also be helpful for children who are constantly thrill seeking (constant urge to swing, spin, jump), those who avoid intimacy and those who experience difficulties with orientating themselves in space.”
